Why is Clinique so expensive when its not organic and still uses artificial chemicals?

I know Organic names are more expensive because they dont use artificial chemicals.





But Clinique is not organic- and yet it is still very expensive.





Why? I mean this applies to Lancome, Chanel, etc, as well. They're not organic but still very expensive.|||Organic does not mean effective just like how price doesn't either. Organic just means exactly what it means. Made from organic material.|||I'm taking an educated guess here:


Basically, you're querying the mark-up on their cost price, right?





The mark-up is probably estimated by the conservative profit amount need to fund:


*Registry of company name


*Purchasing Domain name of its website(s)


*Software Required to load, and maintain its client data


*Building new counter, and maintaining its existing counters


*Importing, and Exporting of goods


*Utililizing research labs for new and existing products


*Loss to company: damaged in transit, return to vendor (discontued stock), products returned by customers.


*Sponsoring charity campaigns


*Employees salaries.





There's probably A LOT more to add to why the mark-up is higher than other brands, but the bottom line is - the extra mark-up funds toward creating better, and more advanced products, and being the first to create them (before other replica's).|||Because of the name. Really, they have a "reputation" to uphold. Especially Lancome and Chanel, they're both known to be used by celebrities and "rich" people, and so they don't want "poor" people to "ruin" their reputation.|||Clinique doesn't test there products on animals which is really good and also alot of there products help your skin like reduces acne and dark circles that why its so expensive as for the other brands well i really don't know.|||i use clinique and there stuff is like amazing. it cleared my acne, dark spots, made my skin soft. they're make-up remover is incredible! i think its worth it.|||its like estee lauder and lancome which is kinda like designer so thats why its so expensive|||Just because they're not organic doesn't mean the products suck. They are high-end products and work much better than drugstore.
